Kenya Wildlife Service Director General Erastus Kanga has assured the nation that the security of rhinos at the newly launched Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary is fully guaranteed. Speaking on December 9, 2025, during the official unveiling at Tsavo West National Park in Taita-Taveta County, Kanga emphasized that enhanced surveillance systems, trained rangers, and strengthened anti-poaching measures have been put in place to protect the endangered species. He noted that the new sanctuary marks a major step toward securing Kenya’s rhino population and supporting long-term conservation goals.
