Migori County is one of the 13 counties that have received support of chicks’ provision worth Sh 500,000 from the national government.
Josaphat Simolo from the State Department for Livestock Development, while handing over 5000 improved chicks distributed to 35 farmer groups spread across the 40 wards, said that the project will improve their livelihoods.
Simolo said that the programme was a Bottom Up Economic transformative agenda aimed at empowering communities, mostly vulnerable, women and youth to generate income.
