The Council of Governors has unanimously agreed to remove Nyeri governor Mutahi kahiga from his position as vice chair, following controversial remarks he made in his Kikuyu dialect on Tuesday in Nyeri allegedly mocking the death of former prime minister Raila Odinga. In an extraordinary Council meeting held virtually, COG chairman Ahmed Abdulahi said the council passed a motion of no confidence in its vice Chairman. Subsequently, Abdulahi condoled with the family of Raila Odinga, insisting the remarks were not in any way associated with the council.
