KDF to open security roads in bandit-prone areas of Laikipia

Defense Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru has announced that the Kenya Defense Forces will open security roads in banditry-prone areas of Laikipia County to enhance rapid response to insecurity incidents. Two KDF teams will be deployed to man the area with one team stationed from Lonyiek in Laikipia North and another from Karandi in Laikipia West. The initiative aims to restore peace in the region that has historically been affected by banditry. While addressing residents at Ng’arachi Primary School in Nyahururu Sub-County Mariru emphasized the role of infrastructure in curbing insecurity and fostering development. Addressing the plight of the school children crossing the Ng’arachi Bridge, which was swept away, the PS promised to mobilize elected leaders in the area to facilitate the construction of a new bridge.
