The government has disbursed more than 3.5 billion shillings for payments to beneficiaries of the Inua Jamii program targeting at least 1,758,735 Kenyans. Each beneficiary of the program is set to receive 2,000 shillings, to cover the December 2024 payment cycle. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has at the same time announced the introduction of M-Pesa through the E-citizen platform, as a new payment method for the program in a bid to streamline service delivery, particularly for beneficiaries in remote areas.
