More than 3 million people in low- and middle-income countries die each year as a result of lack of access of essential medicine. According to the CEO Emmanuel Akpakwu , the trend poses a threat to the health of patients in need of the essential drugs. Financial constraints and systemic inefficiencies were also cited as factors that are also denying users life-saving treatment.
