The government has formally scrapped the 300 shillings fee for new national ID cards, following President William Ruto’s directive. Speaking during the launch of the mobile registration drive for the issuance of National Identity Cards in Shabab Nakuru West Subcounty, interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen further scrapped the 500 shillings charged for the verification of birth certificates.
