Busia County government has installed lighting arrestors in areas prone to lighting especially near schools as the country continue to receive rains. The community of Mungatsi primary has lauded the move saying the project will ensure their children are safe even with the heavy rains. According to Godfrey Sakwa ,the head teacher at Mungatsi primary school ,the project aims to reduce cases of lightning strikes that have been experienced in the area in the past years resulting in deaths of students and community members. Community members say the initiative will help eradicate and reduce cases of lightning in the area and adjacent places.
