The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating allegations of unlawful and irregular leasing of land and properties owned by the University of Nairobi.EACC has written to the University of Nairobi's Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, demanding information and documents related to the matter. Among the properties under investigation are 10 acres of land at Kanyariri Farm, 40 acres behind ANP Hostels, 100 acres at the Kibwezi Field Station, and 6 acres near Dusit Hotel. The commission is also probing the leasing of 20 acres to Shamba Café Hotel, as well as residential houses along Ngong Road, Arboretum Drive, and other properties in Lavington.
The Acting Vice Chancellor is required to submit lease or tenancy agreements, minutes approving the leases, and correspondence between the university and the lessees __
