President William Ruto has defended the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, for attending some of his events during his tour of the Mt Kenya region. Speaking in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi county while commissioning 60 housing units constructed by the national government for the National Police Service, the Head of State said the IG, like any other Kenyan, has every right to attend the meeting, which was a public function. Ruto also faulted his critics, saying he was not campaigning but touring the region to assess government programs and interact with Kenyans.
