The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), Embu County Branch, has petitioned the government to convert the contracts for all junior secondary school intern teachers into permanent and pensionable terms before the start of the next academic year. Branch Executive Secretary Jacob Karura, said the more than 20,000 intern teachers contracted by the Teachers Service Commission had demonstrated professionalism and commitment while handling grades 7, 8, and 9.
