Vulnerable children in Rachuonyo Sub-County, Homa Bay, are finding new hope through a church-led initiative aimed at protecting and empowering them. Redeemed Gospel Church Oyugis, in partnership with Compassion International, is working to address child abuse, neglect, and poverty in the region.
Vulnerable children in Rachuonyo say they face many challenges, from molestation and child labour to the violation of their basic rights. But a local church has stepped in to offer support and restore hope. Children who spoke on condition of anonymity shared stories of neglect, violence, and exploitation. They say the program has created a safe space where they can express themselves and learn how to stay safe.
