Lecturers threaten to paralyse learning in public varsities

    The universities' academic staff union (UASU) has once again issued a seven-day strike notice to all public universities and their constituent colleges over the government's failure to honor a number of collective bargaining agreements, amounting to more than 10 billion shillings. These include unpaid salaries and other agreements that they claim have not been implemented. UASU Secretary general Constantine Wesonga stated that all union members will down their tools on September 17 and will remain on strike until all the issues raised are fully implemented
