Four senior Taita Taveta County Officials accused of embezzling 4 million shillings from the county coffers between the 24th and 27th November 2022 under the disguise of organizing an event to commemorate World War 1 were today released on bond by a Mombasa Law Court. The accused namely Thomas Jumwa the current Economic Advisor to the Governor, Liverson Mghendi former County Secretary and Leonard Langat former Chief Officer, Finance and Christine Wakera, the former County Chief Officer, Trade appeared before Chief Magistrate Alex Ithuku and they all denied the charges levelled against them by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission.
