The High Court has suspended the implementation of the 95 billion shillings Adani power deal, blocking the government from signing any energy agreement with the Indian firm. The court issued the conservatory orders after a successful application by the Law Society of Kenya which is accusing the government of engaging in a deal tainted in secrecy and without integrity and accountability. The court has also barred the state from signing any other agreement with Adani Energy Solutions or any of its related companies and entities with regard to development of electricity transmission infrastructure.
