The curtains closed on the public participation exercise on a bill proposing the extension of the presidential and elected leaders term limits and introduction of a Prime Minister position. A majority of Kenyans who turned up at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre to submit their views opposed the bill terming it as retrogressive and meant to serve political interests. The bill by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei which proposes an increase in the term limits from 5 to 7 years received overwhelming public interest with the senate reporting it has received over 200,000 responses online causing their email to experience challenges.
