    At least 44,000 new cancer cases are recorded every year in the country, presenting a worrying trend of the cancer burden. Chief Executive Officer of the National Cancer Institute of Kenya Dr Elias Melly further reveals that at least 65 percent of cancer patients are lost every year, a situation that calls for a multi-sectoral approach to intervention mechanisms. And as Wycliffe Oketch reports, cancer remains the third cause of death in Kenya after infectious and cardiovascular diseases.
