The 46th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council commenced on Wednesday ahead of the Heads of State Summit on Saturday when a new Chairperson of the African Union Commission will be elected, with 49 member states represented. But as he bid farewell to the gathering of African Foreign Affairs Ministers, outgoing Chairman Moussa Faki warned that his successor will have his job cut out for him. One of the candidates, Djibouti's Mahmoud Ali Youssouf was present at the council meeting with Raila Amolo Odinga expected to land in Addis Ababa this evening.
