A retired military officer has died following a fire incident in Mlolongo, Machakos county.
Fredrick Itambo, 70, died on the spot after he was burnt beyond recognition in the incident that happened at about 5.30 pm on Friday.
Athi River East Sub-county police commander Anderson Mbae said a village elder reported the matter to Mlolongo police station shortly after it occurred.
