The case seeking the removal of Supreme Court President Martha Koome and its six other judges will now proceed to a full trial in February next year. This is after the three-Judge bench of the High Court on Friday declined to recuse itself from hearing the case. In dismissing the petition by former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi demanding their recusal on grounds that they were Junior officers in constitutional matters, the bench asserted its commitment to uphold their oath of office. And as Ruth Wamboi reports, the court termed the allegations as sensational and devoid of any legal foundation.
