Heavy rains to intensify from October 23, warns MET department

The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning that heavy rains being experienced in parts of the country are set to intensify from Thursday, October 23, 2025. In its latest forecast, the department said the rains — expected to exceed 30mm in 24 hours — will spread from the Lake Victoria Basin to the Rift Valley, Central Kenya, Nairobi, and the Southeastern Lowlands before reaching Northeastern counties by the end of the month.
