The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has attributed disease outbreaks and lack of quality breeds and feeds as major challenges facing the export of livestock in the country. Speaking during a stakeholders' engagement on Livestock marketing in Naivasha, the Director of Livestock, Dr Richard Kyuma admitted that the perennial droughts and climate vagaries had eroded gains made in supporting the livestock sector. Dr. Kyuma however said the Government has come up with measures such as vaccination of all livestock to address the challenges and will also build water pans to support livestock production in the country.
