The government has invested over 40 billion shillings in the digitization of its services as well as other related technological investments. This is according to engineer john Tanui, the principal secretary in the ministry of information, communications, and the digital economy. Speaking during the annual Safaricom cybersecurity summit, the PS also defended the government's move to amend the now contentious computer misuse and cybercrime bill, noting that it was costing the country investment opportunities.
