Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen now says only three officers attached to the security detail of Chief Justice Martha Koome were withdrawn to attend a routine training after being promoted promotion but the remaining detail is intact. However, the Law Society of Kenya read malice in the ordeal saying such changes ought to be communicated and arrangements made for a smooth transition. Koome, in a letter to the Interior Cabinet Secretary and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja protested the move terming it as intimidation of the judiciary.
