Magarini and Lagdera legislators have suffered a setback following the nullification of their election. The duo make history as the first members of parliament elected during the 2022 general polls to have their election annulled. Justice Alfred Mabeya of the Malindi High Court in Kilifi County rendered the election of the Magarini MP invalid on grounds of vote stuffing and inconsistencies in the number of votes tallied and votes cast. The legislators were both elected on an Orange Democratic Movement Party ticket.
