Parliament moves to enforce tough Penalties on fake seed sellers, strengthen food safety oversight

The national assembly committee on agriculture now plans to introduce hefty penalties for fake seed sellers, aiming to curb a problem that has persisted due to weak enforcement. During a meeting in nairobi today, the committee is also set to vet food safety gatekeeping organizations to ensure only credible bodies oversee the inspection of food chemicals and fertilizers.
