Police recruitment exercise to proceed after high court lifts suspension

The National Police Service and the Inspector General of Police can now go ahead and recruit police constables after the Constitutional and Human Rights Review division of the High Court suspended last Monday’s decision halting the exercise. Justice Bahati Mwamuye, while lifting the orders on Friday, directed both the applications filed by Eliud Matindi and the Attorney General to be heard together on Monday morning the November 17, 2025. The new directive by the court now paves the way for the recruitment to go on unless the National Police Service directs otherwise.
