Maragua police in Murang’a county are in the spotlight over the handling of a case of defilement and murder of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in the constituency two weeks ago. The law enforcement officers are accused of allegedly arresting three residents who were vocal in condemning the incident and had faulted the police for alleged laxity in handling the case. Area Deputy County Commissioner Gitonga Murungi has however dismissed the claims saying the trio are assisting police with the ongoing investigation. Here is the story.
