President William Ruto has called on Kenyans living abroad to rally behind his economic transformation agenda, saying their support is critical in moving the country from Third-World status to a developed economy.
The President said the Kenyan diaspora, which remitted $5 billion (Sh650 billion) last year, has a huge role to play in propelling the country's growth.
During a meeting with Kenyans living in Qatar, at the sidelines of the UN Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha Tuesday evening, Ruto said: "It disturbs me that Kenya can be a great nation, but we are not moving."
