United States of America President Donald Trump has told the UN summit that the current wave of recognition of Palestinian statehood represents a submission to Hamas and encourages conflict, blasting Western countries that have chosen to recognize a Palestinian state in recent days. Trump says Hamas has repeatedly rejected reasonable offers to make peace while holding Israeli hostages and dead bodies. President William Ruto has also recognized Palestinian statehood, committing to support peace talks.
