Family of the late Bunty Bharat seeks over Ksh700M compensation

    The family of businessman Bunty Bharat Shah, who was reportedly killed by masked police officers at his Westlands home in 2017, is now seeking over Ksh700M shillings as compensation and damages. Through Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi, High Court Judge Chacha Mwita was informed that the deceased's life was cut short, denying him the right to life as enshrined in the constitution. On 12th September this year, the Court of Appeal declared that the killing of the former Bobmil Group director Bunty Bharat Shah by masked police officers was unlawful. Justice Chacha Mwita has set 20th March next year as the Judgment day.
