Kajiado County is listed among the counties with severe drought

Thousands of residents in Kajiado County are staring at starvation as a prolonged drought continues to bite following failed rains throughout the year. Hundreds of pastoralists have abandoned their homes and migrated to other areas in search of pasture and water, as parts of Kajiado Central and Kajiado West remain the hardest hit. The National Drought Management Authority has classified Kajiado among the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands drought hotspots, with at least 64,300 people currently facing food insecurity.
