Rising socio-economic challenges in the country are taking a heavy toll on the elderly, many of whom are now battling lifestyle-related diseases linked to stress and hardship. Elderly citizens say they are struggling to cope with the effects of the tough economic times, coupled with collapsing family support systems and poor access to healthcare. This came to light during a free medical camp organized by the Munyiri Africa Foundation, where senior citizens called for more government and community support to ease their suffering.
