Samburu herders receive camels and goats Breeds said to be drought resistant

    Herders in Samburu County have received better breeds of camels and goats known to be drought resistant. The Somali breed of camels and Ngala goats supplied by the county government are said to produce more milk and meat than the local Samburu breeds. Chief Officer Livestock department Saiwan Lekerpes said most of the locals lost their livestock to drought. The Camels were mostly supplied to lower regions of Samburu such as the East and North.
