Juja MP George Koimburi escapes from police on motorbike

There was drama outside the Kiambu Law Courts on Thursday when the embattled Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi jumped onto a motor bike to escape from police. Security officers had attempted to re-arrest Koimburi who had just been released after the hearing of his alleged forgery case. Legislators allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have decried the move, terming it an attempt by the government to silence critics and calls for accountability.
