Over 600 hospitals under the Rural & Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya are giving notice that they will suspend services under the Social Health Authority (SHA) starting Monday next week. The association says the decision follows the government's failure to clear 30 billion shillings worth of pending bills by NHIF and ongoing system challenges with SHA, putting thousands of patients who rely on private healthcare at risk.
