Reprieve for narok wheat farmers as the government announces that it will buy the entire 321,000 wheat bags being held by farmers. Cabinet Secretary for agriculture Mutahi Kagwe has directed the National Cereals and Produce Board to mop up the entire stock. All farmers and aggregrators have been asked to deliver their stock to NCPD effective Tuesday. The CS says will then receive their payments within 30 days. The government has also signed a memorandum of understanding with millers to buy wheat from farmers and pay them within 14 to 21 days.
