More than 460 learners at Anointed Academy a private learning institution in Mukuru kwa Njenga Embakasi South, in Nairobi County will be forced to enroll in alternative schools following the school’s demolition for occupying public utility land.The area Member of parliament Musili Mawathe lamented that the public utility land that houses Mukuru Community Centre which is the only public school in the area has over time been encroached on by several private schools. Mukuru Community Center which was reclaimed from a private investor in 2020 is currently serving learners from play group to Junior Secondary School, with plans to construct a senior Secondary School to enhancer transition of learners. The school’s management however claimed that they had not been given adequate notice to vacate the said public land
