Junior Secondary School teachers in Trans Nzoia County have taken to the streets of Kitale demanding permanent and pensionable employment terms.The teachers say they are tired of working under contract conditions with low pay and no job security. Led by KUPPET Women Representative, Immaculate Cheserem, the teachers accused the government of neglecting their welfare despite their crucial role in implementing the competency-based curriculum. The educators lamented that their current salaries are too low to meet their basic needs.
