The Mandera County Government has kicked off emergency food distribution to the vulnerable population following the prolonged drought which is currently at the alarm phase. According to Mandera County Governor Mohammed Khalif, at least 15,000 households in the urban settings are in need of food aid. The county emergency team is monitoring the situation in rural areas to ascertain the extent of the drought on both humans and animals.
