The National Treasury is maintaining that county funds must be slashed by at least 20 Billion shillings due to low revenue collection. Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi while appearing before the Senate finance committee said the resolution by Senate to allocate counties 400 billion shillings this financial year was untenable. The senators however insist they will not allow the reduction of county funds as proposed in the Division of Revenue amendment bill 2024.
