Children in Garissa County have been challenged to use the children’s Assembly structure to convey their views and deliberate on issues affecting their lives. Speaking during an election exercise for the kenya children Assembly-Garissa Chapter conducted at NEP Girs High School, Garissa County coordinator for children services Benjamin Kinywa, said that there are several retrogressive cultural practices like child marriage ,and Female Genital Mutilation that affect the lives of children in the area. He however said the children assemblies will enable children to participate in policy making and legislation.
