Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok has been arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of embezzling county funds and conflict of interest where the Governor is a suspect. EACC officers raided his residence in Bomet County on Thursday morning, where the arrest took place.According to EACC the county boss in police custody is set to record a statement at EACC South Rift Regional Offices in Nakuru. Barchok’s arrest comes months after lawmakers from Bomet County called for his arrest over alleged corruption and misappropriation of funds in the county.
