Kenyans are being urged to show compassion and leniency to inmates trying to reintegrate back into society after serving their prison sentences. Busia prison officer in charge Evelynn Papa said the inmates face a difficult time trying to lead normal lives as many people look at them as criminals and not as reformed individuals. Evelynn who spoke at the Busia Law courts during the court open day added that many reformed inmates have become resourceful after undergoing various trainings and mentorships while serving their sentences.
