The ongoing operation Ondoa Jangili in the counties of Marsabit, Isiolo and Samburu has so far born fruits with most of the militia groups neutralized. This operation being conducted by The Special Operation Group, a division of the national police service, seeks to neutralize activities of The Oromo Liberation Army, the militia whose origin is believed to be from Ethiopia. The militia has disrupted the livelihoods in the region through abductions, manipulation, and human and drug trafficking through the porous Kenya-Ethiopia border.
