There is neither a government nor a national police service policy for abductions, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has said. The Cabinet Secretary has however cautioned Kenyans against the misuse of social media and emerging technology to threaten those in authority. Murkomen has in the meantime defended police against accusations that they have failed in their duty to Kenyans.
