The country’s political leadership have been sought to embrace a life of service delivery while in office, and not take advantage of the positions they hold to enrich themselves at the expense of the people they lead. This call has been made at the launch of the book “Service to the end”, a memoir by Samuel Mwaria, the first principal of the Moi Forces academy at the Ruring’u PCEA church in Nyeri, where the writer called out today’s leadership, that has made public service a platform to enrich themselves as they abdicate duty. The memoir shines a spotlight on an illustrious career of the 85-year-old academician, who rose through the ranks from a primary school teacher, to become the inaugural principal of the Moi forces academy in Nairobi, proceeding to take up positions in steading the ship at the PCEA Tumu Tumu and PCEA Chogoria hospitals respectively in his retirement. Among the students the retired teacher takes pride in include Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru and Former Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi.
