Their statements follows the swearing-in of Aden Abdi Millah as Principal Secretary for Shipping and Maritime Affairs a historic first for the community. Elders call his appointment a turning point, saying it ends years of exclusion and gives them a real seat at the table. They’re now rallying local leaders to unite and ensure the community speaks with one voice in the 2027 general elections.
