Farmers in Kiambu County are being urged to embrace rabbit farming to meet the market demand and improve their income. Rabbits Breeders Association of Kenya Chairman Peter Waiganjo says that rabbit meat demand in the country has grown significantly, driven by a shift towards white meat and its perceived health benefits and the changing cultural norms towards its consumption. The Kiambu County Government announced plans to construct a modern rabbit slaughterhouse in the area to support the industry.
