Miili ya waliofariki katika ajali ya ndege yawasili Nairobi
Jenerali Francis Omondi Ogolla alifariki katika ajali ya helikopta ya jeshi siku ya Alhamisi, muda mfupi baada ya kupaa, kaskazini magharibi mwa Kenya.
Ogolla alikuwa ametoka kuwatembelea wanajeshi wanaopambana na uhalifu unaotokana na wizi wa mifugo katika eneo hilo.
Rais wa Kenya William Ruto ametangaza siku tatu za kuomboleza kifo cha mkuu huyo na maafisa wengine wa jeshi waliofariki katika ajali hiyo.
Mshauri wa Usalama wa Taifa Marekani Jake Sullivan, ametuma salamu za rambi rambi kwa rais Ruto, jeshi la Kenya na Wakenya kwa jumla kufuatia kifo cha Jenerali Ogolla na wanajeshi wengine.
Sullivan amesema kwamba Ogolla alikuwa mtu muhimu sana katika uhusiano kati ya Marekani na Kenya katika kuhakikisha usalama wa kila mtu.
Taarifa ya White House imesema kwamba Ogolla amesaidia sana katika vita dhidi ya ugaidi hasa kutoka kwa kundi la Al-shabaab la Somalia na kuongoza juhudi za kuimarisha usalama wa kanda nzima, na kuongezea kwamba Marekani imefurahishwa na ushirikiano kutoka kwa Jenerali Ogolla aliyepata mafunzo ya urubani nchini Marekani.
Jenerali Ogolla atazikwa Jumapili, April 21, nyumbani kwake, Ng’iya, Kaunti ya Siaya.
